From Sid Hartman:Rashad McCants and Craig Smith of the Timberwolves will take part in a four-day NBA camp in Las Vegas this week run by Denver Nuggets assistant coach Tim Grgurich.

Former Erwin High and UNC basketball star Rashad McCants highlights the weekend with an appearance at the “Shoot For a Cure” tournament. McCants, now a member of the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves, will emcee the event, wherein participants pay $1 for a half-court shot and a chance to win $10,000.

Luke Anderson on playing with the Wolves during the Las Vegas Summer League:
“It was a great experience,” Anderson said. “I would have liked to get more playing time, but I felt like I was being evaluated at practice, too. I took that (practice) time as my biggest opportunity.”
