Wolves swingman Marko Jaric returned to action after an MRI on his injured right thumb showed only a sprain.

DraftExpress with a progress report on Randy Foye:
Randy Foye has played up to expectations thus far in his young NBA career. He is receiving much of the fourth quarter playing time, and keeping veteran players like Mike James on the bench. Minnesota fans are wanting Foye in the starting lineup, but in the NBA, it is the lineup in the last 6 minutes of the fourth quarter that is the most important...

Paul Forrester/SI.com on the "sales pitch" for Kevin Garnett and other players he thinks could be dealt before the trading deadline.
Forrester also gets an advance scout to discuss whether the team has "done enough to keep their superstar from asking out by Feb. 22."

Hoopsworld on what the team should do with Mike James:
If James does happen to be relegated to a backup role in years to come, he isn't a bad option at all. In fact, he makes the Wolves pretty deep at that position once Randy Foye becomes that number 2 guy on a regular basis.

Mark Madsen will be working as a studio analyst for FSN North during the Gatorade Timberwolves shootout at the Target Center today.

Assistant coach Rex Kalamian on the relationship between " the student Randy Foye and the teacher Kevin Garnett":
Randy is learning, and having KG helps him tremendously. In games, KG's in Randy's ear all time, telling him what plays to run, what to do defensively; in time outs he's constantly talking to him. It eases Randy, knowing that Kevin has his back out there. We were just talking to Kevin about it at shoot around. Randy is just more comfortable with Kevin on the floor, and we try to keep them out there together as much as possible.

The Chaska Herald includes Prince and Fred Hoiberg in its list of "famous" residents of Carver County.

Doug Smith/Toronto Star answers a reader's question on whether he thinks the Raptors would trade Morris Peterson for Ricky Davis:
Not a chance in hell. Ricky Davis, while available (I'm pretty sure Minnesota's called here about him) has so many major knucklehead issues that he wouldn't be nearly worth it.
