Wolves Updates 5/22

From Charley Walters/Pioneer Press:
A little birdie says interim coach Randy Wittman has agreed in principle to a three-year head coaching deal with the Timberwolves. A contract is expected to be signed soon.

Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor, who chatted with Kevin Garnett at Sunday's Lynx game at Target Center, asked if his $20 million star will be back with the team next season: 'That's our assumption. He hasn't said anything to me (about a trade) and I haven't said anything to him.'

Randy Foye on Howard Porter, the former Villanova star who is reportedly in "very serious condition" after a brutal assualt:
"I probably talked to him five times this season and he came to two or three of my games, including the one at Orlando," said former Wildcat Randy Foye, who played for Porter's hometown Minnesota Timberwolves, and was stunned by the news of Porter's condition. "He always came to talk to me. He's just a great, great guy."

From John Gambadoro/Arizona Republic:
The Suns face a dilemma, and they understand that. Garnett could help them win now, and I stress could. But at what cost? Getting Garnett doesn't guarantee a title, it puts the Suns in an awful salary-cap situation going forward and it deprives them of a young star if they get the Atlanta pick.
