Wolves Updates Part III

Steve Aschburner/Star Tribune speculates on whether KG, Ricky Davis and Mike James can soon have the same success as KG, Sam Cassell, and Latrell Sprewell.

"Who knows? Things are starting to come together," James said Tuesday. "It's not really trying to be like they were, but understanding we do have something good, the three of us."

Said Davis: "We just need to play like it. Kev plays like it every night, but me and Mike have to make shots and keep the pressure on the defense, keep the pressure off of Kevin."

Assistant coach Randy Wittman compares and contrasts both groups of players. The Strib notes that "Garnett's stats are down from 24.2 ppg, 13.9 rpg and 5.0 apg then, to 21.1 ppg, 11.9 rpg and 3.6 apg now. "

Complex magazine includes KG in their "The Men Of Next Year" list. Also on the list are Lil Wayne, Travis Barker, Justin Timberlake, Eminem, Sly Stallone, Nas, Wilmer Valderrama, and 50 Cent. While I think KG is worthy of the highest honors, I'm sure the "Sponsored by adidas" at the top of the page had nothing to do with his inclusion on this somewhat bizarre list.

Coach Casey talks about Yao Ming and Eddie Griffin's lack of playing time:
"It's not anything Eddie's done wrong," Casey said. "It's more about what Craig has done right. I think Craig has done a good job holding down the spot."

Marty Burns/SI.com believes the Bulls are the "most likely suitor" for Garnett.

Chris Sheridan's "Where are they now?" includes a few names familiar to Wolves fans such as Anthony Carter, Skita, Vin Baker, and Paul Shirley.
