Eddie Griffin A No-Show At Media Day

Though reports of Eddie Griffin during the preseason have been enthusiastic, he may already be in trouble for skipping out on yesterday's Media Day session:

Forward Eddie Griffin, also in need of a fresh start after a poor season and off-court trouble, took another misstep Monday by missing media day entirely. ''Eddie had unfinished business in Houston that he went home for,” Wolves General Manager Jim Stack said. ''It’s unfortunate because he had been in town for quite a while.” Griffin’s no-show was termed an unexcused absence and, though Stack said only that the matter would be handled internally, a team fine is likely.

The Wolves hope that Vin Baker, who, like Griffin, also spent the summer in Houston with John Lucas, can act as a mentor to Griffin:
"I definitely hope I can be an inspiration on Eddie," Baker said. "I certainly hope I can be an influence and help him. I think he's a tremendous young talent and a tremendous young kid."
