Wolves Updates 6/5

From Rick Alonzo/Pioneer Press:
The Timberwolves will hold their first predraft workout Wednesday with Florida forward/center Joakim Noah, Wisconsin guard Kammron Taylor, Washington center Spencer Hawes and Towson guard Gary Neal at Target Center.

From Kent Youngblood/Star Tribune:
Wolves assistant general manager Fred Hoiberg said the three-week window for workouts made it difficult to get them scheduled. Between now and the draft Hoiberg estimates that between 30 and 35 players will come to Minneapolis for workouts. That includes players the team could consider for its first-round pick (No. 7 overall).

The Big Lead on the Wolves #7 pick:
If the Wolves are thinking to the future, they’ll go Jianlian. If they think they can win now (ha!) then we’d recommend a player with upside … like Spencer Hawes.

Basketbawful hands out "Sympathy Scores" to Garnett and other NBA superstars on mediocre teams.

Bob Wojnowski/The Detroit News offers some ideas to improve the Pistons:
There are numerous paths to explore. Here's my old, bold suggestion: Find out what it would take to get Kevin Garnett. I know it's never been considered realistic, but Minnesota might have no choice but to trade him because Garnett can be a free agent after next season. Surrendering two big pieces (Hamilton and Wallace?) would be a place for Dumars to start. Garnett has played for Saunders and might cost less than, say, Kobe Bryant. He also has to be one hungry 31-year-old superstar without a title.
