Wolves Updates 6/1

The NBA, NBA Player's Association and the National Basketball Retired Players Association are offering a $15,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the death of former NBA player Howard Porter.

UW's Spencer Hawes is scheduled to work out for the Wolves on Wednesday before heading to Chicago and Sacramento.
"Chicago is a unique situation because they have a high pick, but that's an established team," Hawes said during a media session at the NBA pre-draft camp Thursday. "Chicago would be a good fit. ...Sacramento, with the way they use (center) Brad Miller, that's how I like to play so I'm curious about them, and then there's Minnesota. Who wouldn't want to play with Kevin Garnett?"

From Sid Hartman:
Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor will be getting married on Saturday in Mankato to Becky Mulvihill. The wedding, with family and very close friends only present, will be held at a very small church right near Taylor's home.

-The Wolves don't have any intention of signing free-agent guard Bracey Wright...

-Rob Moor, CEO of the Wolves, reports that 85 percent of the season ticket holders have renewed and that some 600 new season tickets have been sold for the upcoming season.

-Kevin McHale, Randy Wittman and all of the Wolves' top basketball officials this week are in Orlando, where top prospects are working out in the NBA's predraft camp.

Coach Wittman on Orlando's hiring of Billy Donovan:
"Billy has an understanding of what it's all about in the league," Minnesota Timberwolves Coach Randy Wittman said. "Everyone is different. . . . And Billy has a great track record. You have to have talent to win, and he'll have some talent. The indications are that he'll be successful."
