Wolves Updates 2/11

The Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas is sporting an enormous ad featuring Garnett and Dwight Howard in preparation for All-Star weekend.

Britt Robson/City Pages writes that in the game at Memphis, the Wolves played "just badly enough to slowly and surely screw themselves further into the ground when it comes to imagining any sort of future for themselves."

Charley Rosen/Fox Sports on Garnett:
The point is that instead of trying to find players capable of complimenting Garnett, it's KG who should be the second-banana to an authentic all-time great player.

Steve Aschburner/Star Tribune talks to Wally Szczerbiak about his injuries and the Celtics' losing streak. Aschburner also points out the following in his preview for this evening's game against the Celtics:
Ending Phoenix's 17-game winning streak, then ending Boston's 17-game losing streak two weeks later would capture their performance pendulum.

Aschburner believes that if a trade with the Bulls for Garnett were to happen, rookie Tyrus Thomas "might not be the scowling face the Wolves would want to be rebuilding around."

Ricky Davis on the team's trade with the Celtics:
"Minnesota definitely won on the trade," Davis said. "We still have three players from it. They have two. Wally's hurt. Olowokandi's not really playing. We're fighting for the playoffs, and they're fighting for a draft pick."

Coach Wittman on Mike James:
"I don't want Mike to all of a sudden become somebody else," Wittman said. "You can't do that. We've just got to make sure we've got direction on the floor."

Dave DeLand/St. Cloud Times believes that Garnett should be traded and that Kevin McHale should not be the person to orchestrate the deal.

Wolves dancer Sally talks about making the All-Star Dance Team.
