NBA- No Babies Allowed

Mike James talks about his limited playing time in the last part of the season opener:
"It's about a maturity level, about being grown up," James said after practice Thursday. "This is the NBA -- No Babies Allowed. For me to be unhappy because I'm not playing, that would say a lot about my character. That would show that I don't care about winning, just about my individual play. That's not me."

From Kent Youngblood/Star Tribune:
If the opener is any indication, the decision to move Jaric from point guard to a big guard/small forward position was a good one.
Jaric had two assists, two steals and six points in 12 fourth-quarter minutes Wednesday. "He got his hands on some balls, got in on some rebounds, and that's what we need," Casey said. "[The new role] fits him well."

Mad Dog on his knee after a recent cortisone shot:
"It is responding well," Madsen said Thursday. "Now it's a gradual ramping up and see how it responds."
Surgery remains a worst-case option. "Best case is I'm back in a week," he said.

Sacramento coach Eric Musselman on T-Hud's value to the team:
"Very important, because he stretches the defense," Musselman said. "When you get past Garnett and you talk about X factors, [Hudson's] perimeter shooting really is a concern for the opponent. After not playing that much last year, it didn't look like he missed a beat. He played with confidence, he's a guy who's willing to take big shots in crunch time, he's a tough guy who fought just to get into the NBA. I respect his mental toughness a ton."
