Wolves Updates 4/2
Randy Wittman on working with Dwight Howard while an assistant in Orlando:"We talked a lot about Kevin," the Wolves coach said. "I think he looked up to Kevin as a kid growing up, as an idol or somebody of that nature."
Dwight Howard on Garnett:
"K.G. really wants to win. It's so tough for him, but he still approaches it the same way night in and night out," Howard said. "He plays his heart out and that's all you can ask of him."
From Steve Aschburner/Star Tribune:
If Kevin Garnett stays on his current rebounding pace (12.9), Orlando's Dwight Howard (12.2) would need to average 18.9 rebounds the rest of the way to top Garnett and New Orleans' Tyson Chandler (12.4) would need to average 16.4 over his final nine.
From Stephen Litel/City Pages Sports blog:
Did anyone happen to notice what Kevin Garnett said to Marney Gellner post-game? After the nice road win, Garnett stated "We're just trying to build something for the future here." Now, Garnett is always careful with what he says to the media and usually knows what he is doing, so I find it interesting that he made this statement.
From Rick Alonzo/Pioneer Press:
Marko Jaric was the most energetic Wolves player during Friday night's loss to Miami, so Wittman said he decided to reward the veteran by inserting him into Sunday's starting lineup in place of Trenton Hassell...
What was most surprising was that co-captain Hassell didn't play a single minute.
According to Sid Hartman, Fred Hoiberg thinks Florida is going to win the NCAA title.
