Deal is official

From Rick Alonzo/Pioneer Press:
The Timberwolves have traded Kevin Garnett to the Boston Celtics for Al Jefferson, Sebastian Telfair, Gerald Green, Theo Ratliff, Ryan Gomes, two first-round picks and cash considerations.

The two picks are Boston's 2009 first-round draft choice and the selection Minnesota had traded to Boston in January 2006.

From Kent Youngblood/Star Tribune:
"I am excited to become a Celtic," Garnett said in a statement released by the Celtics. "It's wonderful to have the opportunity to play with players the quality of Paul [Pierce] and Ray [Allen]. The Celtics have had a proud tradition and now I hope that we can add to the legacy."

From the Wolves site:
A press conference and media availability with Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor, Vice President of Basketball Operations Kevin McHale and newly acquired players will be held Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 7 p.m. in the skyway level of Target Center. All interview requests will be deferred until Wednesday's press conference.
